Senior Manager, Finance – Gross-to-Net and Scientific Affairs (BBU Canada)

About the role:

As a Senior Manager, Finance, you will lead end-to-end financial stewardship ofGrosstoNet(GTN) and Scientific Affairs investments for BBU Canada. You will own GTN planning, accrual governance, and performance reporting across brands and channels, and act as the finance business partner to Scientific Affairs. You will translate payer dynamics, pricing/discount strategies, and evidence plans into financial outcomes, holding full accountability for GTN accuracy, Scientific Affairs budget performance, and decision support that advances near-term execution and long-term strategy.

Accountabilities:

  • Full GTN Ownership: Own end-to-end GTN for Canada across brands and channels, ensuring accuracy of accruals and actuals for rebates, chargebacks, returns, distribution/service fees, patient support program impacts, co-payassistance, and other deductions; drive actions to deliver margin targets.

  • Business Partnering & Decision Support: Serve as trusted advisor toPCOEand Scientific Affairs leaders; translate strategies into financial implications and actionable recommendations.

  • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Lead annual and in-year planning cycles for GTN and Scientific Affairs, setting sound assumptions with documented drivers and alignment to governance.

  • Month-End Close & Performance Reporting: Run GTN and Scientific Affairs month-end activities; deliveraccurateaccruals, true-ups, and variance analysis with clear linkage to underlying business drivers.

  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Proactively surface GTN risks (e.g., higher-than-expected rebates, PSPutilizationshifts, returns) and Scientific Affairs risks (e.g., study delays, scope changes), quantify P&L impacts, and drive mitigation/capture plans with owners and timelines.

  • Controls, Compliance & Governance: Strengthen GTN accrual controls, documentation, SOX alignment, and audit readiness.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Elevate financial literacy on GTN and Scientific Affairs withincrossfunctionalteams; communicate succinctly with executive stakeholders and in decision forums.

  • Process Improvement & Data Integrity: Standardize GTN methodologies, enhance data pipelines (claims/chargeback/returns), and streamline Scientific Affairs reporting; partner with the Finance Director tooptimizecontrols.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant Business discipline.CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred.

  • 8+yearsprogressive finance/accounting experience, including 3+ years in CPG/Pharmaceutical or healthcare; direct exposure to GTN, market access/pricing, or medical/scientific budgeting.

  • Provenexperience with GTN components (rebates, chargebacks, returns, distribution fees, PSP/co-pay) and accrual/trueupmethodologies; ability to model payer/channel dynamics and margin sensitivity.

  • Credibility at senior executive levels; proven ability to foster relationships across Commercial, Market Access, PSP, Trade, Medical/Scientific Affairs, and Controllership.

  • Strong planning, detailed thinking, and project management; independent problemsolverable to resolve complex,crossfunctionalissues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex GTN and medical investment topics into clear recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Canadian biopharmaceutical market, payer landscape (public/private), distribution models, PSPs, and transparency requirements.

  • Systems: Experience with SAP or similar ERPs; familiarity with GTN/claims data sources, contracting tools, and medical grant/evidence tracking systems.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from$129,784 to $170, 341.50 AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
